As a teacher, I strongly believe that every student is unique in their learning style. When working with a group or individual, I fully support catering the choreography and style to draw out each individuals strengths. While I love dance, and take my career seriously, I also encourage an open classroom that is fun, positive and encouraging. I have high expectations of my students, but I do my best to motivate using constructive, helpful critiques and lots of positive encouragement. I believe that dance teachers play a pivotal role in a dancer’s life, even outside of the studio. My passion for dance has continued to deepen while teaching, and I plan on continuing for as long as I can.
"Amy Hulse is an extremely kind, creative, intelligent, and talented dancer and instructor who genuinely wants her students to succeed. She constantly challenges and inspires her students to strive for excellent technique, passion, and acquiring new abilities. I have spent my entire life thus far dancing, and I have encountered few instructors who can analyze a student and truly bring out the best in them like she does. Her innovative choreography is challenging, unique, and personal to the dancers she teaches...The first year I danced under the instruction of Amy, I improved so much because of her it left me in awe; it was the first time that I felt like I could truly be a great dancer. Now here I am, accepted into an amazing performing arts college in California, and I have her to thank for it. She is my favorite instructor I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, and one of the most truly incredible people I have ever met. I have no doubt that she will continue to inspire and improve the dancers who are lucky enough to work with her in the future, and they’ll love every minute, just like I did."
